Drip Email Verification Integration

The Drip integration allows you to easily import your Drip campaigns into NeverBounce and send the validation results back to Drip.

Getting Started

To get started with this integration, login to your NeverBounce dashboard and click “Add List” on the right of your dashboard. This will open a modal window displaying a list of integrations on the left.

If you have not used this integration before:

Under “Add Integration” you will see a list of possible integrations. Scroll or use the search bar at the bottom to find the integration you are looking for. Click on the Drip integration to open a dialog window. This will have you sign in using your credentials to connect your Drip account.

If you have already connected this integration:

Under “Current” you will see a list of the integrations you have connected. Click on the Drip integration to see a list of your lists.

Importing A List

After logging in with your Drip credentials, the window will close and NeverBounce will connect to your Drip account. After a few seconds you should see your Drip campaigns. Select one and click “Import List” to begin importing your campaign. Once imported, the campaign can be analyzed and validated just like an uploaded list.

Sending the Results Back to Drip

Once you’ve completed validation, sending the results back to Drip is as easy as pressing ‘Export to Drip’. Clicking on ‘Export to Drip’ will open a popup displaying two options to export results back to Drip.

Unsubscribe Emails: This will unsubscribe all of your emails that are not marked as valid.

Unsubscribed emails cannot be resubscribed.

Export with Custom Field: This will store NeverBounce results in a custom field named neverBounceValidationResult.

Disconnecting Drip

To disconnect Drip once you have it connected, click “Add List” from your dashboard. On the left you should see “Drip” listed under your current integrations. Hover over “Drip” until you see a red broken link icon to the right. Click on that icon and you will see disconnection instructions on the right.

You can reconnect your Drip account anytime by following the instructions above.

FAQs

My import has been processing for a while, how long does it take?

Importing can take several minutes for a few thousand contacts and upwards of an hour for larger numbers of contacts.

I am unable to see updated results in my Drip account. What should I do?

Once export process is complete, it takes a while for results to update under your Drip account. Unless you saw an error message within your NeverBounce dashboard, we would recommend reaching out to Drip support team.

Verify new Drip subscriber email addresses with NeverBounce

Keep bad email data from entering your Drip account by verifying new subscribers with NeverBounce. When an email address is added as a new subscriber record in Drip, NeverBounce checks the address’ validity. After a result code — valid, invalid, disposable, catch-all, unknown — is returned, the result code is assigned to the subscriber as a tag.

How this Drip-NeverBounce integration works

  1. A new subscriber is created in Drip
  2. Zapier sends the email address to be verified with NeverBounce
  3. Zapier adds verification result tag to Drip subscriber

Use our Javascript Widget to quickly and easily add real-time email verification to your Drip pages.

You will need:

  • A Drip account
  • An existing, hosted web page with a form. Check out the Drip help documentation to learn more about creating forms in Drip.

While Drip allows for hosted forms and popup widget type forms, the Neverbounce JS widget will only work with their embeddable form. The Neverbounce widget must be added with the Drip embeddable form snippet to your own webpage HTML.

Creating the Javascript Widget

From the NeverBounce dashboard, go to the Apps menu and select Javascript Widget.

Enter a name to easily identify your application and Save the widget. You can also apply Javascript Widget Settings to protect your account from unauthorized or malicious use.

Once the Widget has been created, you will be provided with an HTML snippet and API key. Keep it safe! You can reset the API Key at anytime from this page.

Inserting the Javascript Widget into Drip

While Drip does have the ability to host forms on their own system, it does not allow for the inclusion of custom scripts. To use the Javascript widget you will need to host the form and snippet yourself.

Drip gives you a snippet to embed onto a new page. You will need to embed both the Drip form snippet and the Neverbounce widget code snippet on your web page.

From your Drip dashboard, select Forms in the toolbar and then New Opt-in Form.

Give your form a name and click Create Form.

On this page you can make any alterations to your form fields. When you’ve finished making changes, click Activate Now to activate your form.

Select the Embedded tab and copy the Drip form snippet for your page.

In your HTML document, paste both the Drip form snippet where the form should appear and the Neverbounce JS Widget snippet just before the tag.

You may find that the feedback div will partially block the email field if no styling is added. To move the feedback div, we recommend adjusting the 'margin-top' property on the .nb-feedback class until the feedback div is in the appropriate position.

You can check your widget usage for Drip from the Apps -> Javascript Widget -> Drip page. To learn more about Javascript Widget functions and settings, check out our Getting Started and Advanced Widget Configuration guide.

Javascript Widget Security Settings

Neverbounce uses a credit system for email verification – this means there is a possibility that people could use your credits if they have access to your Javascript Widget. Neverbounce provides several settings to eliminate unauthorized use and protect your account.

Add Authorized Domains

Authorized domains and IP addresses prevent your public API key from being used from unauthorized sources. Requests made with your public API key are only accepted when they come from one of your authorized sources.

If you do not specify any authorized domains or IP addresses, all requests made with your key will be processed regardless of location. We recommend adding a list of authorized domains or IP addresses to prevent unauthorized sources using the application and to protect your credit balance.

Throttle Usage

Specifying throttling rules allows you to prevent users from abusing your forms. You can specify multiple rules to limit the number of verifications made in a given timeframe by IP, or even globally across all IP addresses. When the limit is hit, the widget will treat the request as an unknown.

Not specifying throttling rules leaves your widgets at risk for abuse. This may cause your credit balance to deplete or possibly risk account closure.

Ensure the deliverability of emails sent through Drip by automating your cleaning of Drip email lists with Sync. Daily, Sync will verify the email addresses of new subscribers and existing contacts. Verification result codes will be added to a custom field titled neverBounceValidationResult. You can then remove or unsubscribe addresses with invalid, disposable, or unknown results from your Drip list, keeping your email data clean and campaigns deliverable.
